Instant Pot for Indian cooking
Is Instant Pot suitable for Indian cooking? The answer is YES!
The use of a stovetop pressure cooker is very common in Indian cooking. It is very common to cook dals, beans, and meat, as well as rice dishes like pulao in a stovetop pressure cooker. For example, to make vegetable pulao, the initial masala base is prepared in the stovetop pressure cooker, to which rice and water are added. This is then pressure-cooked.
The process of making this in the Instant Pot is the same, albeit the time and water ratios are different. We put the IP in "saute" mode and make the masala base, to which we add rice and water. We set the IP in "pressure cook" mode and cook as desired.
If you cook a lot of Indian food or are familiar with Indian cuisine, you would know that pressure cooker is used extensively. Instant Pot is a great replacement for stovetop pressure cookers. It gives you authentic-tasting dishes while saving time and energy.
The Instant Pot does not require any monitoring (or minimal monitoring in some cases) whereas, in a stovetop pressure cooker, the food needs to be literally babysat to get the perfect taste and texture, without burning it.
Now, not only are the saute and pressure cook modes great, but you also have features like 'keep warm' or 'delay start', making the Instant Pot even more convenient. It also cuts down the cooking time immensely, particularly when making desserts. Rice, beans, meat, dal, soup - all these can be made easily using an IP. Browse through these Indian rice recipes, cook them, and more in your Instant Pot.

Non-vegetarian Rice Recipes in Instant Pot
Non-vegetarian food is a term commonly used in India for food that has meat, fish, or eggs in it. It is more commonly called non-veg food. Not just for food, it can be used for a person too. A person eating meat is a non-vegetarian in Indian English. Egg too is not classified as vegetarian for Indians. Well, they are called "eggitarians".
