Equipment

Ingredients

  • 3 oz white rum
  • cup watermelon (roughly chopped) - use sweet watermelon and chill it for a few hours before blending.
  • 1 oz simple syrup (optional) - see notes
  • 1 cup yogurt (use straight from the refrigerator)
  • ½ teaspoon ground cardamom
  • ¼ teaspoon ground pepper
  • Watermelon balls and mint leaves for garnish

Instructions

  • Take yogurt, pepper, and ground cardamom in a bowl. Whisk it well until it is smooth. Set it aside.
  • Now, blend the chopped watermelon and white rum until smooth. Add the simple syrup along with them if you are using it.
  • Pour the whisked yogurt into two glasses. Top with blended watermelon.
  • Garnish with watermelon balls and mint leaves. Serve immediately.

Notes

Place the watermelon in the refrigerator for a few hours, and use the yogurt straight from the refrigerator. This way, you can skip using ice.
You can also blend everything together instead of separating yogurt and watermelon. This is an excellent option if you want to make the cocktail ahead of time.
I have not used any sweetener as the watermelon I used was very sweet. Depending on your preference and the sweetness of the watermelon, add simple syrup when blending the watermelon.
